The Bible teaches that every believer in Jesus is called to be a disciple. The Lord has helped us establish a discipleship stream of teaching to help equip Jesus followers with His Word. Our discipleship can take place in either a classroom setting or small group discipleship. We take an adaptive and modular approach to discipleship where we seek to minister to the specific needs of individuals, and may integrate parts of one discipleship course into another to strengthen foundations of faith in each person.
CHOSEN CHURCH DISCIPLESHIP
The Bible calls us to make disciples! At Chosen Church we equip Jesus followers to grow from their first encounter with Jesus in salvation to a mature believer and leader.
IDENTITY IN CHRIST
Is a class or a discipleship course designed to teach you about your identity in Christ. When we get saved the Bible teaches us that we become a "new creation" and that we are being transformed by the Word of God. This class is a point of entry into our church community where you also get to build relationship with others while learning about what the Bible says about who you are in Christ.
FREEDOM
Freedom is a combination of personal ministry, discipleship and spiritual warfare. It is where we expose the tools of the enemy and dismantle them with the word and with prayer from a place of identity and authority. We examine the ways that the enemy (satan and his demons) attempt to steal from, kill and destroy believers. Not only do we take authority over our enemy but we also remove strongholds that we've had in our lives which bind us to dysfunction and brokenness. This class is taught in sections and currently has four, and each section is once a week for four weeks or can also be taught in a small discipleship group setting.
LOCAL CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
This is a class for people who want to take the next step as observed in the book of Acts where they not only hear the gospel and the message of Christ and his Kingdom, but choose to participate in his plan of the local church. Jesus said "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. In this course you'll learn about all things church and the importance of local church membership and identifying with a local church. You'll learn about being the family of God as well as being his Ekklesia or "called out ones" which speaks of the church being a spiritual governing body on the earth just as in Greek communities there were local governing bodies called Ekklesia's.
FOUNDATIONS
Foundations is a class on the Biblical Foundations of our faith in Jesus. It covers the core doctrines or "teachings" of the Bible about everything from salvation to the gifts and baptism of the Holy Spirit. This class follows after membership as our pastors are responsible for those who have been recognized as being a part of their work through the local church.
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT The gifts of the spirit are for today, and are employed, just like Jesus, to testify to the truth of the message of the gospel. This class helps teach you about the present day activity of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit and how to use them biblically in the right spirit and attitude.
SERVANT LEADERS
This class is about the leadership teachings and philosophy of Jesus which he modeled to his disciples. If you want to be great in God's kingdom you must learn to be a servant of all, just like Jesus (Philippians 2). This course is an introduction to church leadership the way Jesus called us to lead.
DEACONS
This class is for those being trained for service as deacons in the local church. We examine the biblical passages that describe the spiritual and character requirements for deacons and their role as leaders in the local church.
ELDERS
This class is for those being trained for service as elders in the local church. We examine the spiritual and practical character requirements for those who serve as elders in the local church. The scripture records the Apostle Paul's call for elders to be established in every local church to administrate the spiritual and practical needs of the church body.
FIVE FOLD MINISTRY
This is a class designed to help us understand the ministry and purpose of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers in the local church today. The church has been given these ministries for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry.
